Catch U2 Concert Live on YouTube
U2 Manager Paul McGuinness just announced the upcoming U2 concert at the Pasadena Rose in California will be streamed live on YouTube.
The concert takes place on Sun, Oct 25th, 2009 at 7:00 PM PST. The live streaming will be available in 16 countries. Fans can set their alarm clock to 3:30 GMT when it begins. Clips from the concert will be posted on YouTube should you miss.
YouTube said it would place ads around the video "in the normal manner". The site will also offer viewers the ability to chat to one another using Twitter, or to give money to Bono’s RED charity via a "donate now" button, while they watch the show.
Previously U2 offered similar live streaming experience via Microsoft MSN (Silverlight). Considering its global popularity, it’s will be a challenge for YouTube to serve simultaneously million of streams.
