Windows 7 Debuts
This morning, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer officially kicked off the global Windows 7 launch at an event in New York City. The new version delivers a refreshing combination of ease-of-use, performance, and aesthetics.
Windows 7’s new features and User Interface enhancements provide an organizing power that optimizes usability and facilitates multi-tasking.
Windows 7’s performance improvements – such as reduced memory requirements, streamlined background services and power management – amplify the overall responsiveness of the Windows 7 User Interface while increasing your PC’s energy efficiency. Applications load faster, wireless networks connect/disconnect more quickly and you’ll be less likely to be surprised by a dead laptop battery.
Users won’t be interrupted as often with security warning as with Vista. The UAC can be customized to best suit user needs.
The core of Windows 7 fully supports multi-touch screen, we should see its application will be adopt more by OEM hardware vendors.
The Windows 7 is available in 7 editions but, the 2 most popular will be the Home Premium and the Professional Editions. The upgrade price is starting around $120 up and the student discounted price is also available.
Please note that Vista customer can plan a painless upgrade to Windows 7 but there is no upgrade path for Windows XP users, who can only start from scratch for a full install.
