Google Voice to Apple: We are Back!
Few months ago, Apple reject Google Voice app and all the third party apps that use its API. Google Voice service offers for free a local phone number for free to its subscriber and reroutes all calls to this number along with many other convenient services. This effort could make wireless carrier somewhat irrelevant beside bandwidth pipe and could disturb greatly existing business models.
Despite the FCC inquiries to all parties, nothing has changed since. Google announced it would come back with a Web-based version that runs within Safari browser.
Now time has come.. Google is calling for Beta tester for its app called Black Swan Edition.
The web-based version reportedly is using extensively HTML5 to achieve all the features mimicking the client app. And this could pave the way in the future that app developer embrace to avoid the scrutiny of Apple app approval process .
