Meet JooJoo (Formerly Known as CrunchPad)
Today, Fusion Garage CEO Chandra Rathakrishnan introduced to the press the JooJoo, a slate form factor device that offers a single purpose of Web browsing.
The $500 device sports a 720p 12.1” capacitive touch-screen (the largest size to date), it has very slim and curvy back that gives the same impression of holding a larger iPhone. Mic, camera, speakers, one USB port, a flash card slot and WiFi antenna are among only specs details that were unveiled.
The JooJoo is powered by a custom Linux Operating System, the Web browser offers Flash-based video support.
Web navigation control is done by pinching your fingers on the capacitive touch-screen and a small on-screen keyboard can be used for URL and data input.

Not bad – shiny shiny! But it looks like there may be a few interface glitches to work out before I’d order one. For example, when he changes orientation there’s a sickening fraction of a second where it looks like the whole screen is scrambled, before it renders properly.
The small details count!
