Vevo, World’s Premier Destination for Music Video Launched

UMG, Sony Music, EMI Music, Google jointly unveiled VEVO, the new premium music video and entertainment service. A Hulu like for Music Vides.

imageWith such big names in the Music industry, overnight, VEVO will become the largest music video network on the web due to its partnership with YouTube. All YouTube traffic and video streams for music videos from 85% of the music market will be assigned directly to VEVO, creating the largest music video audience network online.

Created as an innovative online global platform for professionally-produced music video entertainment for music fans, brands and content owners, VEVO blends the very best in top-notch music content with YouTube’s leading edge video technology and user community. In addition, VEVO’s content will be available on VEVO.com, the service’s marquee destination site, and through a VEVO branded embedded player. VEVO will also serve as a syndication platform for additional internet destination sites, expanding the reach of the VEVO brand across the worldwide web. AOL and CBS Interactive Music Group are announced as VEVO’s first syndication partners. Through these deals, VEVO will be available across major online publishers by the end of Q1 2010.

As a free-to-consumer, ad-supported platform, VEVO features an extensive array of professionally-produced videos, exclusive premieres, original programming and live and recorded concerts anywhere on the web from such market-leading companies as Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, EMI Music, CBS Interactive Music Group, ABKCO, Big Machine Records, Concord Music Group, Hollywood Records, Lyric Street Records, Razor & Tie Entertainment, Walt Disney Records, Wind-up Records, Caroline Distribution, Fontana Distribution, INgrooves, IODA, RED and The Orchard, among many others. All of the videos on VEVO and the VEVO Player now available through YouTube are at least twice the quality and resolution of those that are generally found online today, and unlike videos found elsewhere, a majority of videos on VEVO will feature integrated, synchronized lyrics.
