Many core applications from Google have been incorporated to the iPhone since inception. But with the accelerating of rivalry between the 2 companies as Google introduction of the Nexus One smartphone and Apple is getting in to the mobile advertisement market. Apple is repositioning its partnerships.
BusinessWeek reports Apple and Microsoft have been in talk for weeks to possibly replace Google search by Microsoft Bing as default main search engine on the iPhone.
Few week ago, Microsoft made a Bing search app available for free in the iTune App store. The app provides voice recognition, location-based search and nice looking maps using its Seadragon technology for smooth action of zooming and panning, traffic information is also provided.
Since we believe the core iPhone OS 4.0 will be running on the upcoming Apple tablet. Whatever decision coming out of the discussion will be carried over to the tablet platform as well.
