Lenovo starts transforming its business suite of the ThinkPad line for more daring design as seen in its “IdealPad U1” and the “LePhone”.

The IdealPad U1 is a full Windows 7 netbook powered by the CULV Intel Core 2 Duo processor when it is docked in to its shell. But when detached it becomes a 11.6” multi-touch tablet running a Lenovo Skylight, a Linux-based  OS powered by the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon paired with a 16GB SSD. For the first time, the device actually feature dual CPU types and dual OS. The transition between the 2 modes is perfectly seamless.

For less drastic design but yet carry the same theme is the Lenovo LePhone, an Android -based smartphone  powered by the speedy 1GHz SnapDragon. The phone features a 3.7” capacitive touch-screen and an optional shell housing a QWERTY keyboard and a clear cover.

According to Lenovo, these devices aren’t just a design exercise. You should be able to purchase them by mid year…
