If the HTC/ Google Nexus One is to austere to your tastes. HTC will make the Desire available for you (unless you are in the US).
Two big additions that you will have versus the “stock” Nexus One are the Sense UI and Adobe Flash Support. Please note, while the 1GHz Snapdragon is very potent, adding eye-candy UI is pleasant but it might introduce unnecessary load to the handset and instability.
Specs highlights; As stated, the HTC Desire is on par with the Google Nexus One. 3.7 inch AMOLED touch sensitive display, 1GHz processor, Android 2.1 with HTC Sense, 512MB ROM, 576MB RAM, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus, GPS, optical trackball, 3.5mm jack. measure 119 x 60 x 11.9mm with a weight of 135 grams.
