Microsoft Might Be Working on Its Own Windows Phone
TheStreet.com reports Microsoft might copy Google playbook with the Nexus One. The software giant is working with computer hardware manufacturer Asustek to build its own phone.
Northeast Securities analyst Ashok Kumar reveals the candy bar device will be running on the newly announced Windows Phone 7 Series operating system.
Asus is a Taiwanese computer maker, best known for its EeePC netbook line and the maker of few Windows Mobile devices. Asus is also the hardware partner that helped Garmin break into mobile phones with its nuviphone.
It is known that with the new OS, Microsoft will impose more restrictions on the hardware vendors as far as specs and the UI but making or perhaps market its own phone is a big surprise.
Microsoft declined to comment on speculation.
