Motorola Milestone has Earned Android 2.0 Badge
The Motorola Milestone (AKA Droid on Verizon’s land) is Motorola’s second mobile phone to run on Android, and their first to run Android 2.0, known as Eclair.
This updated version of Android has an extended catalogue of downloadable apps from the Android market and access to a range of Google services such as Gmail and Google Maps. The camera improvements on the Android 2.0 handsets have also helped to enhance photographic quality.
This is also the first Motorola handset to come pre-installed with voice guided Google Maps.
Included with this service are a search engine to find addresses, Google Street View and live traffic data.
The Verizon Droid just got upgraded to a new Google map app, users should expect similar 2.0 upgrade shortly, once the Verizon validation team finished the approval process.
