IOS 4 Might Cause Sync Issues with Google Services

image I have been using the method we covered HERE to sync my Google Calendar  over-the-air on my iPhone 3GS,  but the latest IOS 4 seems to break that process.

As other people reported their Gmail, Contacts and Calendar sync with the IOS4 iPhone stopped as well. For the synchronization with the iPhone, Google uses Exchange account for the setup. IOS 4 brings many changes in synchronization with Exchange and this might be the reason.

We will give you an update, if we hear a resolution.

if you use the Exchange setting to sync, it is broken.

If you use the Gmail to sync, you get the email and the calendar, but not the contacts.

With IOS 4.0 you can have multiple Exchange emails. So you can set a new Exchange for Gmail, but just synch the contacts. It does not work 100% – I get 20% of my contacts, not 100%. Still trying to figure it out.

Lost all my contacts today for no reasons. I found my iPhone is very unstable after the upgrade.

Please let us know if you hear anything. My iphone syncs the “My Contacts” from gmail, but not vice versa. I have so many contacts within gmail that I wanted on my phone but it’s not working. Also, if I add a new contact on my iphone, it doesn’t update in gmail. This should have been fixed by now, don’t you think?

I keep getting the error message incorrect password, it’s only since IOS 4.0.2, but it’s really driving me crazy.
