Google Released “Voice Actions” For Android Devices

image in a press event today, Google unveiled a new version of its voice command technology called “Voice Actions” for devices powered by its latest Android OS version 2.2.

Voice Actions are a series of spoken commands that let you control your phone using your voice. Call businesses and contacts, send texts and email, listen to music, browse the web, and complete common tasks, all just by speaking into your phone.

Users can use voice to perform various functions such:

  • send text to [contact] [message]
  • listen to [artist/song/album]
  • call [business]
  • call [contact]
  • send email to [contact] [message]
  • go to [website]
  • note to self [note]
  • navigate to [location/business name]
  • directions to [location/business name]
  • map of [location]

You can implement the new version by going to Android market and download Voice Search and the Google Search Widget.

cant get this to work proper,
tried re install

when i say text to or text
it put the name of the person in the subject box not the to box on text or emails
