HP Slate: Windows 7 Based Tablet Prototype Captured on Video
We have heard HP will release soon a WebOS based tablet soon and later a Windows 7 based tablet. A Windows 7 based tablet was featured last year at CES during Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer keynote, but later in the year HP purchased Palm for its WebOS among other intellectual properties. WebOS based tablet has become HP main focus perhaps for the consumer market.
To maintain its business customer based and its relationship with Microsoft, HP is said to continue working on a Windows 7 based tablet. Below is a new video showing a working prototype with great details. The device called HP Slate.
Windows 7 based tablets have not been widely adopted compared to Android. We don’t know if the OS is competitive enough with the current form.
Despite the new crop of tablets is coming out, Google admits its Android 2.2 is not at its best when running on tablet and promised the next version 3.0 codenamed Gingerbread will bring more improvement in this domain.
