Toshiba Folio 10.1” Android Tablet
Toshiba announced at IFA its first Android 2.2 powered tablet. Unlike other non-Apple iPad tablets announced lately, the Folio sports a 10.1” touchscreen at 1024 x 600 resolution. The form factor is slightly larger and heavier than the iPad. Only Wifi version will be available at launch (October) but next Spring Toshiba will have a 3G + WiFi version. Nvidia TegraTM 2 is at the heart of the device.
On the software side, the Folio will have pre-installed with a wide selection of applications amongst them Opera Mobile (web browser), FBReader (e- book reader), Document To Go (office suite), Evernote (notes), Adobe Flash 10.1 and Fring, an app that in combination with the embedded webcam allows video calls with friends and family.
