What We Didn’t Hear Apple Fall Event
Yesterday Apple CEO took the center stage to announce a plethora of new products including iOS 4.1; 4.2 preview; iPod line; iTunes 10 with social network PING and Apple TV along TV shows, movie rentals,.. What we perhaps speculated, but did not hear are:
- What happens to the fate of iPod classic, which did not get mentioned during keynote but it is still on sale on store. Didn’t Steve Jobs indicate “all iPods will get new replacement”?
- Does iOS power the iPod Nano and Apple TV? It looks like it does, where are the apps? there are might be more than 1 versions of iOS – Apple might want to avoid “fragmentation” criticism?
- No mention about iAd at all
- The camera on the previous Nano has been dropped
- iPod Nano lost also video playback capability
- No Web-based iTunes
- Apple scored Ping name but couldn’t not get iTV
- 60 second review of song
- Can the old Apple TV get upgraded with new software?
