Windows 7 Family Bundle Is Coming Back
Microsoft will celebrate the first year anniversary of its fastest selling OS in history by bringing back a special offer which allows customers to buy multiple licenses of Windows 7 at a considerable discount.
You might remember that the software giant allowed user to purchase the three Windows 7 license bundle dubbed the Windows 7 Family Pack ahead of the platform’s general availability deadline, for just $149.99. The offer did not last long after the launch, but rest assured, the offer will make a comeback.
“Starting October 3 in the U.S., Windows 7 Family Pack will be available for purchase at participating retailers and online at the Microsoft Store,” Microsoft’s Ashley Brown revealed.
In all fairness, Windows 7 GA was on October 22nd, 2009, but this is no reason for the one year anniversary of the OS not to start early. “Purchasing the Windows 7 Family Pack gives you three upgrade licenses of Windows 7 Home Premium for the low price of $149.99,” Brown added.
“To take advantage of Family Pack, you’ll need a PC running a genuine copy of either Windows Vista or Windows XP that is capable of running Windows 7.”
At the same time, the return of the Windows 7 Family Pack special deal will not be limited to customers in the United States. As before, Microsoft will expand the availability of the Family Pack to customers in additional markets worldwide.
“For those of you who don’t live in the U.S., Family Pack may be coming your way too. It goes on sale in Canada, UK, Germany, France, Australia and many other markets on or after Oct. 22 (Windows 7’s 1 year anniversary!),” Brown added.
