This morning Microsoft officially kicked off its new mobile platform called Windows Phone 7 to the public.

The new mobile Operating System uses an innovative user interface based on Metro design, which is similar to the one used by the company media player Zune. The home page is populated with tiles instead of static icons. Tiles are displayed dynamically with freshest relevant information.  Along with basic features like calendar, phone, etc.. Tiles are representing core hubs including People (Facebook), Game (Xbox live), Marketplace, Office, Music + Video, Picture.

Not all the US carriers will be on board at least at launch. Only T-Mobile and AT&T will be releasing Windows Phone 7 based devices.  Microsoft announces 60 operators in 30 countries will be featuring Windows Phone 7 smartphones in the months to come..
