Despite the recent blockage from major TV networks on Google TV products, Toshiba. and Vizio reportedly plan to release products based on Google Inc.’s TV software at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January.

This announcement will widen support for Google TV, until now, the software has been used only in televisions and Blu-ray players from Sony Corp. and in a set-top box from Logitech International SA, all using Intel Corp. chips.

Google TV software allows searching shows and content from the cable box or from the Web.

Excellent idea for people with mobile lives, but netbooks and tablets can already do this by wifi linkups and this method is still a lot pricey compared to before. Plus the hdtv tuner is the premium extra cost in so far.
