With millions of new iPhones expected to hit the Verizon Wireless airwaves early next month, hoping to “Rule the Air way” on the red network. AT&T might match the new personal hotspot feature to delight its customers.

imageThere have been rumors that the new iOS 4.2.5 which was shown on the CDMA iPhone, the new OS enhances the iPhone as a personal hotspot (WiFi, Bluetooth and USB), will eventually pave the road to AT&T to enable the feature as well.

BGR reported they just received from trusty anonymous sources that personal hotspot would make its way out to other iPhones by March by offering screenshots (with the carrier name blocked out) to back up its claim.

Furthermore, BGR speculates the iOS version 4.3 will have version identifier 8F5148b will include the personal hotspot feature and will make its way to developer for testing soon.

Of course, ultimately,  it is up to AT&T to decide when to include the feature into its offering considering the timing of the competitive landscape. But when it enables, AT&T/ GSM has a huge advantage compared to Verizon/CDMA. While tethering as data modem, users can still receive call on GSM network and taking incoming call  is disruptive on CDMA.
