Motorola Atrix 4G Can Be Yours for $150 Starting Feb 22
Motorola and AT&T is launching the most powerful and the most versatile smartphone: the AT&T Motorola Atrix 4G, available for all qualifying 2-year new & upgrade customers for $150 (at The Shack). Starting Feb 22nd. The Atrix will be the new flagship after the popular Motorola Droid, the company determines to capture its high-end image and the mind share, especially in Europe.
The Android-based smartphone Motorola Atrix 4G, star of last CES is getting a release date and pricing on AT&T network. Availability from AT&T and select retail channels. AT&T will offer bundled pricing for the Motorola ATRIX 4G and the Motorola Laptop Dock.
The versatile Atrix 4G sports a 4”qHD display, Dual-Core Nvidia Tegra 2 CPU and 1GB RAM has been voted to be the most powerful smartphone at the last CES 2011. But when Android 2.2 does not make many heads turned. Its accessories definitely does.
In addition to its normal duties as a Smartphone, powered by the NVIDIA dual-core Tegra 2 chipset, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. A 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a front-facing VGA camera, The Atrix 4G is able to port its content to larger computer screen, courtesy of a new Motorola Webtop application and docking stations.
- With a docking station attached to a computer or laptop, users can run their Android apps, browse the Web with Mozilla Firefox 3.6.13 browser, send instant messages and make phone calls, all at the same time. 3 USB ports are available
Business users with an existing Citrix account may use the Citrix Receiver application in the phone to access virtual desktops as well as Windows, Web and office applications hosted on Citrix XenDesktop. - With a 2.4 pounder laptop shell called Webtop, user can dock securely the Atrix in the back. The Motorola Webtop sports a 11.6-inch screen, full keyboard, speakers and a 36Wh three-cell battery that provides up to eight hours of battery life. Users can run Android Apps & Games and perform phone function on a laptop like screen and key board.
- With a Multimedia, the docking station sport an HDMI port with 720p capable video playback for multimedia entertainment for business presentation.
- Use the Vehicle Dock for a driver-friendly interface and voice-enabled search and dial. Get real-time traffic information and full turn-by-turn navigation from Google Maps™ Navigation (beta). You can even connect to your car stereo safely, in a snap.
AT&T will offer two special packages for customers who choose to purchase ATRIX 4G in addition to these unique accessories. The first combines ATRIX 4G and the Motorola Laptop Dock for a promotional price of $499.99 after a two-year service contract and $100 mail-in-rebate after subscription to Data Pro smartphone data plan and tethering add on. Customers who choose to purchase the Motorola Laptop Dock separately pay $499.99. AT&T is also offering an Entertainment Access Kit for ATRIX customers which includes the Motorola HD Multimedia Dock, a Bluetooth® keyboard and mouse, and a remote control for $189.99.
Motorola ATRIX 4G will also include AT&T Mobile Hotspot service built into the smartphone, allowing users to connect additional Wi-Fi-enabled devices.
AT&T U-verse® TV customers will be able to manage their DVR recordings – and U-verse customers with a qualifying TV plan can download and watch hit TV shows – right from their ATRIX 4G handset using the U-verse Mobile application. In addition, any ATRIX 4G user, whether or not they have U-verse TV at home, can still enjoy a variety of video options – including live TV – with the new U-verse Live TV application, preloaded and available for $9.99 a month.

Granted, the skeptical might critic the 4G is a mere HSDPA+ and Android version is not the latest 2.2. However the device offers some cool options that indeed will make-up for the lost of exclusivity of the iPhone on AT&T.
Note that MOTOROLA LAPDOCK requires customers to have the Data Pro 4GB personal w/tethering plan for AT&T for full Firefox browser use.
