Apple Released iOS 4.3
As anticipated, Apple has just released iOS 4.3, 2 days prior to the the iPad-2 public launch. Users can connect their iOS devices to the PC/Mac running iTunes software to perform the update.
Below are few major changes:
- Airplay now supports all third party apps to stream video, audio, slideshow to Apple TV. The app developers need to update the software to take the advantage of new Airplay API.
- Personal Hotspot for iPhone allows the iPhone to act as WiFi router supporting up to 5 devices. (Additional feature for GSM iPhone subjected to carrier plans)
- iTunes Home Sharing lets iOS devices access media from a Mac or PC on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Safari’s Javascript will get performance boost
- iPad hardware side switch can be selected for either mute function or screen rotation lock function
The update is available for iPad, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 (GSM only), iPod Touch gen-3 and gen- 4. Connect the device to your PC/Mac running iTunes. From iTunes click on the connected iOS device and click on check for update.
Note that the CDMA iPhone 4 (on Verizon) is running 4.2.6, which has some of the 4.3 features. Apple eventually will unify its iOS at some point..

Things just keep getting better
Home sharing is the most exciting feature to me!..
