Microsoft is Readying Windows 8 Optimized for Tablet
News is still sketchy, but absolutely inevitable. As the new tablet segment emerges, which could erode the PC sales for both consumer and business markets,. Microsoft is working feverishly a tablet optimized version of its Windows OS aiming to catch up the lost ground with competitive offerings from Apple iOS, Google Android, RIM Playbook and HP WebOS.
The new version could be the company next OS version of Windows 8, which rumored to have been passed Internal mark “Milestone 2”. The last Windows 7 went public after “Milestone 3”. In its new OS, Microsoft could be using the Metro user interface seen in its mobile OS Windows Phone 7.
According to a source at Microsoft, the company hopes to show off its new Windows 8 design for tablets by the end of its fiscal year in June.
