Amazon is Rumored to Sell Its Branded Android Phone
Amazon has steadily released products & services that seem to follow a long term mobile strategy. We saw the giant online retailer opens its first Android appstore, followed by the online music locker that allows music purchasing/ streaming to the Web and Android headset. Now, AndroidPolice reports that Amazon will sell its own high-end Android handset codenamed Blaze.
The specs denounce a high-end class of device with 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4.3” display, 512MB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, 5MP/1.3MP cameras, MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) port for both microUSB and microHDMI). DLNA and first 4.3 Mirasol display that does not require backlit. huge 1,700mAh. The device cover is said to carry a solar charger as well.
The large battery and the screen imply that Amazon might suggest the use of the device as e-reader and HDMI/DLNA could help Amazon to sell/rent video/movie streaming.
Having its own branded device allows the retail store to customize the UI with its Appstore, Video, Music rental, streaming, e-Book, etc.. The availability is speculatively set for Summer release.
