Microsoft Partners with Toyota for Cloud Based Telematic
After Ford, Microsoft will partner with another automobile giant, Toyota to develop Internet service integration to the new line of cars.
BBC News reports the first Toyota Hybrid line will see this integration sometime in 2010. A full scale deployment will happen by 2015.
GPS, Power Management and Media Services are the first features that will be implemented using Microsoft Cloud centric services called Azure
"This new partnership between Microsoft and Toyota is an important step in developing greater future mobility and energy management for consumers around the world," Toyota president Akio Toyoda said.
Microsoft has partnered with Ford since 2007 in the voice enabled Telematic that Ford branded as Ford SYNC.
