Analyst: Upcoming iPhone Model Will Be Called iPhone 4S
Several sources have reported the testing iPhone units spotted in several places. Today, Jefferies & Co. analyst Peter Misek asserts in a research note (reported by Forbes) that for the next iPhone, Apple will give it a model name iPhone 4S instead of iPhone 5 as we assumed.
The research note states the new device will include only minor cosmetic changes, better cameras, A5 dual-core processor, and HSPA+ support, which implies T-Mobile will carry the device should the AT&T merger deal does not go through. Sprint and China Mobile are also mentioned as potential new carriers.
As far as 4G/LTE support will not make to the next iPhone, hence the 4S model is used. And the analyst expect the Qualcomm LTE chipset will be present in the follow-on iPhone 5.
