It’s Official HP TouchPad Available Starting Jul 1st (New Video)
We just received the official press release from HP stating its first WebOS TouchPad, The company tablet will join the crowded but hot segment with Apple iPad as market leader and “white space” competing products powered by Android, Blackberry/OS and Soon Windows 8.
The TouchPad sports a 9.7” display, a 1.2-GHz dual-core SnapDragon processor, 512 MB of RAM, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls, WiFi 802.11b/g/n,
The WebOS is well known for its card deck UI with multi-tasking capability and Adobe Flash support. HP TouchPad supports Citrix for corporate users. There is synergy among WebOS devices by the way of sharing information by touching them together.
The HP tablet will be available in US starting July 1st, and in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France and Germany a few days later and in Canada in mid-July, with availability scheduled to follow later this year in Italy and Spain, as well as in Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Singapore.
HP TouchPad WiFi version will be available from U.S. retailers and direct from HP with the option of either 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage for $499.99 and $599.99, respectively. A 3G version will be available on AT&T network in Summer.
Optional accessories for HP TouchPad include the HP Touchstone Charging Dock, the HP TouchPad Wireless Keyboard and the HP TouchPad Case (sold separately).
Preorders in North America and Europe will begin June 19.
