9 types of Computer Security Threats to Avoid

Nowadays, computer has become very important for all the people throughout the world. And it is very important to secure your system from many threats. Some of the computer security threats are as follows:

  1. imageAdware: This is software that displays advertisements on your system. This software displays many advertisement banners and many pop-ups on when you use your computer. But many times adware becomes a problem it:
    • This software will be installed in your system without your notice.
    • Helps your web browser in order to display more ads.
  2. Backdoor Trojan: This helps others to take control of another user’s computer through internet without your notice. This software may pose legitimate software just as Trojan horse programs do, so that there is a chance that other users can run it. When you are using internet, the person who has sent you the Trojan horse can execute many actions on and from your system.
  3. Blue jacking: This can happen when you end many unwanted messages to other users with blue tooth enabled mobile phones and laptops. This depends on the capacity of the Bluetooth phones to detect and contact other blue tooth devices nearby. Blue jacking can be a problem when some threatening messages or images send to other phones.
  4. Boot Sector viruses: These viruses spread by changing the program that allows your computer to start. Once you switch your computer the hardware finds the boot division program which is on the hard disk and can also be on a CD or floppy disk. Boot sector replaces the original boot sector.
  5. Browser Hijackers: Hijackers change the default home and will search pages in your internet browser. Some websites run the script and changes the settings in your website without your notice. It also changes the page that is first displayed when you open the browser.
  6. Chain letters: Electronic chain letter is an email. This allows you to forward copies tp other people. The main types of chain letters are as follows:
    • False messages like companies are offering free flights or free mobile phones etc.,
    • Pranks and jokes
    • Messages from agencies like CIA and FBI.
  7. Cookies: These files on your computer enable websites to remember all your details. When you open a website it will place a file called cookie on your computer.
  8. A Denial of Services: This Dos hit avoids users from accessing a website or computer. This type of attack includes sending huge traffic to your computer that the other computer can handle.
  9. Document Viruses: These viruses take all the benefits of these macros commands that are patched in files and will run automatically. A macro virus is a program that can copy itself and spread from one file to other file.
