Netflix New Pricing Plans
Netflix, the service known for its DVD subscription rental by mail, recently offered streaming movies through many mobile devices as well as set-top boxes, game consoles, etc…
Netflix continues to offer streaming video subscription for $8 a month and brings the the DVD-only subscription to $8 a month for 1 DVD out at-a-time plan and $12 a month for 2 DVDs out at-a-time plan. Customers who paid $10 for the combination of both (1 DVD and streaming), now have to pay $16 or more for additional DVD.
The new pricing will go in effect immediately for new customers and September 1st for existing subscribers. New members can sign up for these plans by going to DVD.netflix.com.
In a blog post, Netflix gave the reasons for the new plan is to encourage the streaming option to cut cost of managing real disk, shipping, queuing.
