Android Ice Cream Sandwich & Nexus Prime Event Announced

Google and Samsung will follow Apple October 4th event with a new joint announcement of the new Android OS codenamed Ice Scream Sandwich featured on the Samsung Nexus Prime. The joint event will take place in San Diego, CA on October 11 at 11:30 AM PST.

imageSince, launch Google has been going in an alphabetical order with various versions of Android, starting with Donut, Éclair, Froyo, Gingerbread and then Honeycomb. Up to Gingerbread, the OS versions are designed for smartphone,  Honeycomb is designed optimized for Tablet. The upcoming version Ice Cream Sandwich is supposed to unify both platforms.

Samsung will have the honor to feature first the new OS on its much anticipated flagship Nexus Prime sporting a 4.65” Super AMOLED running at 1280×720 resolution, and 4G capable.
