Mercedes Adds Digital Lifestyle in Concept A-Class
Mercedes is betting on future mobile Internet evolution by showing some digital experience concepts at the Frankfurt auto show. The idea is your digital life on-the-go is pretty much relying on the smartphone, so going to the car, this should be a seamless experience. The luxury German car manufacture giant proposes a slot located on the dashboard to slide in your smartphone via the Interface Plus System, which serves as a gateway to funnel continuously data from the Web. Driver would use a rotary knob to navigate several functions displayed on an iPad-like screen, which shows bright large icons.
Along with music playback, GPS,.. all the inbound and outbound social activities seems to work seamlessly. Text are transcribed to voice to ease eye distraction.
Rear-seat passengers are not forgotten. A behind the headrest iPad mount will be available with connectivity to the same interface for various activities.

The Mercedes-Benz iPhone® Interface Plus can be retrofitted from summer 2012. The free app will be available for download from the App Store at the same time.
