Announced last September, today Facebook, the popular Social network just opened the feature Timeline to replace the user Profile page to all, as “opt-in” fashion. To get timeline, simply go to the Introducing Timeline page and click "Get It Now." Or you can wait until you see an announcement at the top of your profile.

For Facebook users, the new Timeline format in the profile represents the chronological  timeline including statuses, media, activities related to a particular event.

The Timeline features the user avatar and a photo /video cover and few personal information from the user profile. Below are the status updates with inline media, in 2 column format. The timeline slider is located on the top right of the page for greater scale navigation. Click on the line between the 2 status columns to insert additional status, events, etc.. as needed.

The navigation is easy enough to go back and forth in time as well as the ability to control the contents attached or removed to/from each event. The Timeline will be formatted with fluidity for both desktop and mobile.

User can choose to make any post private by hovering on the top of each post to select the viewing levels. You can also hide, delete or feature the post (expand across 2 columns and place on the top) by using the dropdown ?icon located top right  of each status.

Starting today, timeline will also be available on Android and m.facebook.com. (iPhone app is coming).
