Logitech, the giant accessory manufacturer just announced its affordable conference cam for business and consumer market, the BCC950, available for $250 when it goes on sale.

image The solution combines a Webcam supporting HD 1080p 30fps video mounted optionally extended arm or on a base containing a high-quality full-duplex speakerphone; noise canceling, omni-directional mic  and a separate remote control.  The system uses standard conference call software such Skype or Microsoft Lync.

The conference cam is equipped with Carl-Zeiss optic with wide angle. The camera sits on its base or mounted an an extended arm to raise to eye level height. Camera angle, zoom, pan can be controlled with the companion remote control. A 78-degree field of view and 180-degree remote-controlled video pan, tilt, zoom ensures each member of the small group is seen.

The speakerphone base is connected to any PC or Mac computer via USB. UVC H.264 onboard technology helps ensure quick plug-and-play functionality.  The base also has button commands such mute, volume and camera angle, etc..

The remote can be used to answer/end calls, set volume up/down, pan, tilt, zoom and mute. .
