Facebook has just released a new stand alone mobile app called Poke, only available on iOS for now. Poke has been a feature Facebook on the Web since 2004. The feature gives users the nonchalant way to say hello to a friend.

On the mobile side, user can take a photo or short video, optionally adding text or colors and set the lifespan up to 10 seconds;  next select one or multiple recipients to send the message to. The message can be seen while the recipient holding the finger on the screen or it will disappear at the preset expiration, a feature to prevent the recipient to easily take screenshot. But if they do, you will be notified.

Being recipient, If you ever see something you’re uncomfortable with, you can click the gear menu and report it.
