Facebook Messenger mobile app just add the new voicemail capability. The new update of stand alone app is available on Android and iOS. It lets Facebook users to add photo, snapshot, emoticons and voice recording in addition to traditional chat messages.

On the chat screen, even the recipient is not available for chat, tap on the sign  “+” located on the left on the input box to reveal the additional options.


Furthermore, Facebook is said to be working on a beta test of voice calling to compete with Skype for free peer-to-peer communication using data plan or WiFi bypassing the phone.

Few months ago, Facebook started allowing people to use its messenger app for Android with only a name and a phone number without the need to logon into Facebook account.

The social networking giant is looking to attract more people using and stay within its services as opposed to go somewhere else for potential money generation.
