The Blackberry Z10 and Q10 have been in the news for the last few days. The company has certainly accomplished a major transformation from an austere device that was almost catered to business world to a more consumer friendly smartphone.
While the hardware does not create much WOW factor and neither the OS 10. The most amazing feature in my opinion, is the Time Shift Mode. In this mode, the camera automatically takes several shots at millisecond intervals. The software then lets you first pick composition of the photo and subsequently lets you selectively narrow down to each face to pick the perfect expression by using a time dial before merging to the final shot. The feature is very similar to Microsoft GroupShot with better user interface. Time Shift mode is particularly useful for group taking photo.
“Pinpoint and adjust elements of your picture to get the photo you want. Time Shift mode captures milliseconds before and after your photo—so you can scroll back on the dial to open one friend’s eyes and then forward to catch your other friend smiling, before combining it all to create the perfect picture.”
