image Another crazy idea from the Taiwanese manufacturer, Asus just announced the Asus Transformer AiO, a all-in-one PC that costs from $1300 and up depending your options. The most intriguing part is the true meaning of its name “Transformer”.

When docked, the device looks like an docile 18.4” all-in-one PC running Windows 8 with touch enabled. The dock houses an Intel CPU with available choices of Intel’s core i3, i5 or i7 CPU coupled with either 4GB or 8GB of RAM and Nvidia GeForce GT730 GPU drives the graphic processing power. More specs HERE!

The hefty “king size” 5.3lbs 18.4” monitor can be detached to be used as a tablet in 2 modes:

  1. In Windows 8 mode: the tablet is driven by the processing power from the dock as long as both are located in the same WiFi network
  2. In Android mode: User can launch Android 4.1 OS that runs on the on-board quad-core NVidia Tegra 3. The tablet carries 2GB of RAM and 32GB of Flash storage. The display supports  full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The device will be available in June 2013 timeframe
