Sony doesn’t want smartphone camera to kill Point-N-Shot yet. The company continues to bring more values to its line of compact camera. The Cyber-Shot HX50 will be the lightest camera featuring a 30x optical zoom with with optical image stabilization; 20.4 megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor; a 24-720mm f/3.5-6.3 lens.
The feature list doesn’t stop there, the camera packs a manual dial, a built-in WiFi radio allowing media exchange with smartphone and a GPS to embed geo-tag and photo/video filter effects including panorama. The camera can capture video in HD 1080p at 50 fps. The hotshoe is equipped with pin connector for either Flash, Microphone or electronic viewfinder. The camera will be available shortly in the US for $450.
