With the popularity of photos taken by smartphone, users are faced with an enormous amount of photos to retrieve when needed. Until now, tagging with labels, embedded date, geo-tagging are among the techniques available for this purpose but they are scarcely used by their nature of non-intuitive, tedious and time consuming.
As reported first by AppleInsider, Apple has submitted a patent filling covering a voice tagging capability for photo retrieval on iOS devices. User can just use their voice, presumably with Siri to add a voice tag such: “photo in Paris” to the first photo of a series of similar ones. Then later on, user could use the same voice tag to order iOS device to find all the photos carrying that voice tag.
