The wearable bracelet FitBit is an activity trackers, wireless-enabled wearable devices that measure data such as the number of steps walked, quality of sleep, and other personal metrics. The bracelet works in tandem with a mobile app [iOS, Android] to provide information analyzed in details
FitBit just released a new version of the app on iOS platform, that gives users the option to use simply the Motion Co-Processor and various sensors of the iPhone 5s itself without the need of FitBit hardware, which costs between $60 and $130 depending on models. With this option, users can only monitor a handful of activities such, steps walked, distances, calorie burned, food plans, monitor goals set for desired weight; monitor water consumption.. the features are more than what Moves app can provides, however, these are maybe the most basic things you need to get going.
With this feature, FitBit is hoping users will be hungry for more features such in particular sleep patterns, climbing altitude, alarm, stats, etc..
Since Moves app has become a paid app [$3] and if you just need some basic tracking to start your new year resolutions, than you should give the free FitBit app a try.
