Many new search engines have surfaced,  by much curiosity, I usually gave them a spin, but I instinctively go back to Google. This time with Microsoft Bing, I have not felt the need to go back to Google, ever since I put Bing as my default search engine in Firefox.

Among features that I have not yet discovered, The first thing you notice with Bing.com is the daily wallpaper-worthy background picture. While it is harder to download the picture with Chrome browser, in Firefox browser, you can just right mouse click and view it and select it as your computer wallpaper. Don’t worry if you miss one, because you can roll back older pictures just by hovering your mouse to the navigation arrows located at bottom right corner.

Note: this feature might only available for Bing search for United States-English.  (Country selection at the top right corner of your screen).

Alternatively, you can perform a normal image search with wallpaper size selection on the left margin of the search result.

imageAdditionally, Microsoft has made available few ringtones as part of Bing marketing effort that you can download

Dell has been known for low-cost, utilitarian hardware manufacturer. This time it is thinking outside of the box by introducing 2 stylish pieces of hardware, the Adamo laptop and the Studio One 19 desktop. One is an ultra-thin laptop and the other is an all-in-one desktop with optional  touch screen feature. While the Adamo laptop is rather expensive at around 2 larges, the Studio One is more affordable at half the price of the Adamo for the Touch Screen version.  The Adamo fits nicely in the first class lounge at the Airport and the Studio One fits perfectly on your kitchen countertop. Today, WSJ’s Walt Mossberg is reviewing these 2 luxury items and gives you his verdict.

After a long Beta period, Dropbox has opened  for public consumption. Just like most file storing/sharing, Dropbox is cross platforms (Linux, Windows, Mac) (however, there is no mention about iPhone nor other mobile platform support).

User is required to install a small client software on its desktop computer, files/directory can be dragged and dropped to a sharing place so other clients running on other computer can access. Another Web based depository is also created for Web based access and this location stores several versions of the file in case collaboration use.

Files can be shared to non-Dropbox client users as well. You can share files or directory to others by creating an URL for easy Web access them.

Currently, you can get 2GB of storage space for free on the cloud. I do not see any premium plans for extra capacity. The user interface is very intuitive and clean.
