For the last 2 years, the Aliph Jawbone has become the popular weapon for road warriors for its exceptional background noise cancellation technology. However, many users including me found the version 1 is kinda bulky, and few other minor issues such tricky to wear, and the flimsy charge connector.
Luckily, Jawbone 2 seems to address these minor shortcomings without loosing its noise-canceling abilities. The version 2 is much smaller (50%) and the new diamond pattern design (not related to the HTC Diamond) adds a modern look. The leather wrapped ear hook looks more comfortable to wear and the Jawbone 2 now has a magnetic charging connector.
The Jawbone is available now in black for $129.99 at AT&T retail stores. [Via Engadget]

The developers promise a near desktop experience, with its responsiveness and ease to act on items. “If you’ve used list view, then it should be familiar to you. Scan the titles for an item that interests you, tap and it expands in place. Starring, sharing, and keeping unread are done in place, so you never have to leave the list view or refresh the page.”
To use Google reader, just visit http://www.google.com/reader/i/ on iPhone or iPod Touch.

The Black 3G iPhone May Be Real After All
Not only AT&T slipped a drop down menu on their Web site showing the selection of the iPhone Black but the way AT&T put a spin on this afterward. That is enough to think the black 3G version is real after all and the release could be eminent. [Via Engadget]

With the rumor issued by SwitchToAMac mentioning a possible May release of the 3G iPhone (contrary to earlier prediction of June 9 announcement at WWDC). The site went further to suggest another Apple portable/tablet device using the latest Intel mobile chip Atom might be announced at WWDC-2008. In addition, the fact that both Apple stores in US and UK have posted the unavailability of the current iPhone.
All the excitement surrounded the next iPhone is the 3-G capability and the upcoming firmware 2.0, which are already widely known. Steve Jobs might not see this as a big surprise anymore to make a splash at WWDC, hence an earlier release. Again, this is based on buzz around Blogosphere, please take it with a grain of salt!
Chinese, Korean Handwriting Recognition on iPhone
The next iPhone firmware is rumored to have Chinese handwriting recognition built-in as reported by MacRumors and wretch.cc. This is a strong indicator the next Apple iPhone might officially invade Asian market first.

Users apparently can draw Chinese characters on the screen with their fingers. Suggestions for the character will appear on the right of the panel where users can then pick the right one.
Without further delay, Diotek, a mobile software company based in Korea, just announced the development of its DioPen, a handwriting software that will work on the iPhone when the 2.0 firmware allows 3rd party app.
DioPen works the same way as Windows Mobile handwriting recognition. The cool part is it can recognize 3 languages: Korean, Chinese, and English in either cursive or print characters. The software can be ported to other phones as well. [Via CNet]
