With the rumor issued by SwitchToAMac mentioning a possible May release of the 3G iPhone (contrary to earlier prediction of June 9 announcement at WWDC). The site went further to suggest another Apple portable/tablet device using the latest Intel mobile chip Atom might be announced at WWDC-2008. In addition, the fact that both Apple stores in US and UK have posted the unavailability of the current iPhone.
All the excitement surrounded the next iPhone is the 3-G capability and the upcoming firmware 2.0, which are already widely known. Steve Jobs might not see this as a big surprise anymore to make a splash at WWDC, hence an earlier release. Again, this is based on buzz around Blogosphere, please take it with a grain of salt!
