CorePlayer 1.2 On Course For Release at CES
CorePlayer, the licensed version of the open source TCPMP, which is the most capable media player for Windows Mobile to date.
We announced 7 weeks ago, the CorePlayer will be upgrade to v1.2 with integration YouTube Mobile streaming support. The time has come as CES is starting today…
To answer some questions that will be asked … after the jump
- Yes that means RTP/RTSP will be a part of 1.2 instead of 1.3 as planned
- ‘fully’ integrated CorePlayer Mobile into PocketIE for multimedia playback
- It will be YouTube Mobile Not YouTube ‘flash’ ( http://m.youtube.com )
- Yes we have added a Google GData parser to the CorePlayer Platform
- It will be a link at the bottom of the player as shown above
- The interface will be a feature part of the CoreTheque database
- We are planning to release it first for CE/Windows Mobile first then move outwards
- No, there is no plan to support flash videos
- Expect a simple UI initially but more will be added. But what we are excited about it how it will showcase the power of the CoreTheque database, since all the data for YouTube is based off of RSS feeds its really all about storing data.
Note: Unfortunately, based on previous history with CorePlayer. Always take this with a grain of salt…We have developed "We don’t believe it until we see it" altitude ;-(
CorePlayer is available in SolSie Store for all mobile platform HERE!

i have a core player with rtsp support for streaming videos. the problem is, it doesn’t play the video, only the audio. The file is in .SDP format with H.263 video and AMR audio.
Also, in .3GP format with the same video H.263 and AMR, also it doesn’t play the video, only the audio.. it there a codec to install so that it will work?
Darryl, I don’t think .sdp format is supported. Please check at the CorePlayer forums:

solsie, actually it plays the file only that it does not shows the video. Only the audio is played. As i was researching about the software, it doesn’t support H.263 video only H.264(AVCD). If only there is a codec that can be installed in the pocket pc so that it will support the h.263 video jusr like in the PC where if there is an additional codec installed, it will be supported by any player.
