Google understands all online services need to have an offline capability to get more adoption. Today Google announces Google Gears for Windows Mobile

In this offline mode, user can still use application when there is no radio signal available.

In this first iteration, Google Gear for Mobile is only available for Pocket Internet Explorer Mobile on Windows Mobile 5 and 6 Pocket PC devices.

Developers can use this technology to develop offline capability into mobile web applications.  2 major apps that currently use Google Gears are Zoho (mobile.zoho.com), an office suite and Buxfer (m.buxfer.com), a social payment service.  The Zoho suite using Google Gear for desktop has been available for few months.

Google is reportedly working on Google Gears Mobile for other mobile platforms such as Symbian, Android, etc..
