The Cost of Android Powered HTC Dream G1?
TechCrunch reports by the end of October, when T-Mobile releases the HTC Dream, the first Google’s Android powered phone, user will pay $200 with 2-yr contract.
As you know, smartphone requires data plan + SMS on top of voice plan. Since the T-Mobile 3G network is very behind compared to other carriers, we should expect the data plan to be very competitive on this device.
T-Mobile and Google are working feverishly to make sure user first experience will be nothing less than complete satisfaction. "We’re in the final stages and having lots of sleepless nights..….We’re very happy with the results," said Andy Rubin, Google’s director of mobile platforms.

Backup Your Firefox environment with FEBE Extension
We should expect the browser war to be more aggressive at faster pace. While Firefox is still the king of customization with numerous extensions, which will remain across upgrades Firefox, however, installing on another PC or creation of portable Firefox might require time consuming effort to re-install all your extension.
We’ve heard that next version, Mozilla will provide a way to save your profile on the “cloud”. Until then, you can use FEBE extension,
FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up — It will actually rebuild your extensions individually into installable .xpi files. FEBE backs up your extensions, themes, and (optionally) your bookmarks, preferences, passwords, cookies and just about everything else Firefox offers (it can even backup/restore your entire profile). The back-up file can reside on your computer or Box.net online storage service. But if your backup file is not larger than your Web based email service provider, I’d suggest just to email yourself.
Features:
- Schedule automatic backups on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
- Save backups in time-stamped folders to easily identify when the backups were created. Specify how many folders you wish to keep and FEBE removes the oldest.
- Backup reminder. FEBE can alert you if a backup has not been completed in a specified number of days. (Yay!)
- Comprehensive results report with links to the author’s extension/theme homepages.
- User-defined backups. Make backups of virtually any file or folder - Firefox related or not. Just specify what to backup and FEBE does the rest.
- Extensive built-in help files. Just click the little blue information icons in FEBE options.
- FEBE 6.0 uses native Firefox zip/unzip components. Much, much faster than previous FEBE versions that depended on external, third-party utilities.
- Upload backups to your Box.net account automatically or with a single click. (FEBE 6.0)
* Verify your extension directory. Upgrading to Fx 3.0 sometimes leaves garbage in the extensions directory. FEBE can clean it up. (FEBE 6.0) - Quick Backup. You can quickly backup as many or as few individual extensions/themes as you like. They can be saved together in a single, installable xpi file (Similar to CLEO). (FEBE 6.0), etc..

Organize Desktop Icons with Wallpapers
Look on your desktop, if you have more then 10 icons, experts say your productivity is greatly diminished.. We show you below a simple trick that normally does not take up much of your time. Just pick a wallpaper with some “compartments” and drag your icons in. (don’t forget to uncheck, the option Auto arrange, Align to grid Icons from your desktop first).
If “procrastination” is your middle name and you don’t want to file them yet, at least sort them out by type, create few folder by category (right mouse click on your desktop-> New -> Folder; give it a name); move your icons in the newly created folders.
You can use a desktop wallpaper like this one below to group your icons. You can download this wallpaper in several sizes HERE!
for more frivolous mind, you can use this desktop wallpaper. The “dock” in the middle of the screen is conveniently designed to host all your various icons artistically.
Download HERE [this wallpaper is seen at LifeHacker]
If you run Vista, place your mouse over the icon, hold the CTRL key and use your mouse scroll wheel to resize the icons to your liking.

4G Apple Nano Got Reviewed
Every 12-14 months people expect Apple to come up with another “WOW factor” for the iPod line and so far, Apple has met expectation with their endless inspiration while still retaining the unmatched familiar user experience.
Beside the iPod Touch, which seems to take a different destiny, the traditional iPod and iPod Nano have become harder to change the already almost perfect shape. There aren’t many combination to choose between narrow and fat, thinh and thick…Apple also has to add more features on both the device and its companion software iTunes. All that to entice user to purchase a new piece of hardware every year.
Prince McLean from Apple Insider wrote a very thorough review to take you thought all the features you ever wanted to know. after reading, you will see if you would throw your perfectly working “fat” iPod Nano in the drawer for the new svelte curvy one.

Your Opinion on Apple Rejection of Podcaster App?
I wanted to write about this story last week about an app that got rejected from Apple app store The app called Podcaster, which provides the way to download podcasts via cell network or WiFi bypassing iTunes.
Apple Rep says: Since Podcaster assists in the distribution of podcasts, it duplicates the functionality of the Podcast section of iTunes.
When Apple opened the app store, it was clear, the policy was to prevent Porn and bandwidth hog app to be present on the store. But later we discovered all apps that might get in Apple or its partner business interests (e.g. Skype) might be also part of that group.
The above justification seems to imply the latter reason but the answer should have been on the first reason of “bandwidth hog”.
But in reality, I think Apple might look further on the business side. Let’s say one day Podcast will become paid contents, would this kind of app will be able to create another store outside of Apple to sell Podcast, which will clearly conflict with Apple business…
Of course Apple choose to give a short easy answer, which created a big storm among the developers regarding Apple policy.
Please chime in!

On This Day in History.. Sept 16
On this day, Steve Jobs quitted Apple in 1985 and came back in 1997.
In the late 1970s, Jobs, with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, created one of the first commercially successful personal computers. In the early 1980s, Jobs was among the first to see the commercial potential of the mouse-driven GUI (Graphical User Interface). After losing a power struggle with the board of directors in 1985, Jobs resigned from Apple and founded NeXT, a computer platform development company specializing in the higher education and business markets. NeXT’ subsequent 1997 buyout by Apple Inc. brought Jobs back to the company he co-founded, and he has served as its CEO since then. Steve Jobs was listed as Fortune Magazine’s Most Powerful Businessman of 2007. (Wikipedia)

Thoughts Aside: Laptop and camera bags are widely used and provide proper protection for these devices. Apart from camera bags , there is range of other accessories to enhance and protect laptop and cell phone camera . Also if your film camera supports advanced connectivity options, you can attach it directly to the digital projector to enjoy high quality videos on big screen. However you might need software driver available from pda software collection.
