RIM Announces Blackberry 9000 Series

Research in Motion just announced officially the long rumored Blackberry 9000 series.

The Blackberry Bold is the first among other future models within the series. The handheld is featuring the fastest CPU to date. The processor is clocked at 624 MHz. and packed with 3G networking connectivity for both GSM and CDMA markets.

Highlights:

  • Higher-resolution display at 320 by 480
  • BlackBerry OS, 4.6.
  • 624-Mhz Marvell Tavor PXA930 processor
  • SDHC support up to 16GB in capacity
  • HSDPA, EV-DO, WiFi, GPS
  • Improved Bluetooth A2DP
  • 1500 mAh battery allowing 5 hours of talk time and 13 days of standby.
  • 1GB of onboard, AES256 secure memory.
  • MS Office compatible with DataViz’ DocumentsToGo
  • Internet browser displays Web pages in desktop format and will support Flash in near future.
  • iTunes integration with 30 frames per second video playback.
