Does’t really look much different from WM5, but sure runs fast. Is there any possibility that they will improve the interface before it comes out?

spmwinkel January 19, 2007

Last couple of days a WM6 ROM was found or leaked or something like that, and people at XDA-developers have already made it onto ROMs for the HTC Universal (I think) and HTC Wizard (but there are better WM5 custom ROMs than the new WM6 custom ROM), so there are already ROMs out there, and I don’t think the official ROMs will have greatly improved interfaces. Also, where WM5 had OS 5.1.x, WM6 has OS 5.2.x in the Start-Settings-System-About screen so I see it more as a “Second Edition”.

I’m not too good with ROMs, I don’t really want to risk to brick my device, but this is how I understood it from XDA-developers.

would the crossbow rom be compatible with an ipaq 2215? i get really tired of wm2003.

SolSie February 20, 2007

Not at all!
ROM are formatted for specific newer devices. The iPaq 2215 is not part of it!

Hope Dell rolls out an update for the Axim X51 line..

SolSie February 21, 2007

I strongly doubt it..Dell is spreading the words that they will silently discontinue the Axim mid-Feb. Just to empty the inventory then hopefully we will see the release of some kind of smartphone as speculation of the new hiring of the ex-Motorola exec.
