Vista SP1 Update

18 March, 2008 Posted by SolSie As News, Windows PC

As we stated, the Vista SP1 Installation Package has been released and available for manual download in only 5 languages: English, French, Spanish, German, and Japanese. (Alternatively, you can Hit the Start Menu, All Programs, and select Windows Update). The package size is 434MB for the 32-bit version and 726MB for the 64-bit edition.

I took the plunge to upgrade my Vista machine, it took roughly 1 hr 30 mn including few re-boots, in non-attendant mode without any problem. Microsoft is offering a free phone assistance should you need it 1-866-234-6020.

If you are not on the bleeding edge, you can wait and see.  SP1 will start downloading to PCs automatically beginning in mid-April if you have your Windows Update configured to automatically download updates.
